塩尻市の行政区域の歴史

Shiojiri established its city administration in 1959 through the merger of Shiojiri Town, Hirooka Village, Kataoka Village, Chikumachi Village, and Souga Village. Seba Village and Narakawa Village, including Narai Village—historical post towns along the Nakasendō—were incorporated in 1961 and 2005, respectively.

塩尻は、1959年（昭和34年）に塩尻町、広丘村、片丘村、筑摩地村と宗賀村が合併して市制となりました。そして塩尻と並んで中山道の宿場町であった洗馬村と楢川村（旧奈良井村を含む）が1961年（昭和36年）と2005年（平成17年）にそれぞれ合併して現在の塩尻市になりました。
