Shiojiri on the Kikyogahara Diluvial Plateau

桔梗ヶ原洪積台地の上に発展した塩尻

Shiojiri is situated in the southern part of the Matsumoto Basin, where the Azusa River originates in the Northern Japan Alps and flows northward into the Sea of Japan. The city has developed on the Kikyogahara Diluvial Plateau, traversed by the Narai River, which flows from the Kiso Mountains.

The elevations above sea level are 933.8 meters at Narai Station, 715.8 meters at Shiojiri Station, and 664.5 meters at Hirooka Station, decreasing from south to north.


塩尻は、北アルプスを水源とする梓川が流れる松本盆地の南部に位置します。塩尻は、桔梗ヶ原洪積台地の上に発展し、木曽山脈から流れ出す奈良井川と塩尻峠に始まる田川とに囲まれています。
