1880 (Meiji 15)
ブドウ、筑摩種の原木入る
The Chikuma grape variety was planted in Shiojiri.
1890 (Meiji 23)
里山辺村豊島理喜治、ブドウの苗3,000本を大門地籍に植え植栽を始める
Rikiji Toyoshima from Satoyamabe Village launched grape cultivation by planting three thousand saplings.
1908 (Meiji 41)
諏訪から来た小泉八百蔵がコンコード7反歩棚造り栽培を行う
Yaozou Koizumi from Suwa cultivated seven tanbu (approximately 70 square meters) of land, planting the Concord grape variety using the pergola method.
1911 (Meiji 44)
林五一桔梗ヶ原へ移住 果樹栽培に没頭
Goichi Hayashi relocated to Kikyogahara and devoted himself to cultivating fruit.
桔梗ヶ原のブドウ(コンコード)初めて名古屋に出荷
The Concord grapes of Kikyogahara were shipped to Nagoya for the first time.
1912 (Taisho 1)
県の苗圃を開設する。この頃ブドウ約10町歩、梨3町歩
Nagano Prefecture established a nursery. Grape cultivation covered approximately ten hectares.

The Kikyogahara Grape Shipping Association was established to supply the Tokyo, Osaka, and Kobe regions.

林五一、桔梗ヶ原ブドウ出荷組合設立 組合の統一により(共)桔梗ヶ原購買販売組合となる
Goichi Hayashi established the Kikyogahara Purchasing and Sales Association through the merger of the Kikyogahara Grape Shipping Association

Vineyards in Kikyogahara covered more than approximately one hundred hectares.

Severe frost damaged fruit and mulberry farmlands.

寿屋(サントリー)塩尻地籍の桔梗ヶ原朝日街道にぶどう酒醸造工場を建設
Suntory established a winemaking facility in Kikyogahara.
1943 (Showa 18)
桔梗ヶ原のブドウは酒石酸の原料として強力な統制を受け、食用はなくなる
The grapes of Kikyogahara were subject to strict regulation as a raw material for tartaric acid, eliminating their use as table grapes.
1946 (Showa 21)
この年より農地改革実施される
Agrarian reform was implemented starting this year.

桔梗ヶ原のブドウ栽培面積、戦前の6分の1に減る
The grape cultivation area in Kikyogahara shrank to one-sixth of its prewar size.
